Van Gogh in Auvers sur Oise

Auvers-sur-Oise was one of my favourite places linked to life and work of Vincent van Gogh. It’s a village where he lived during the last two months of his life. He painted around eighty paintings during that time. However, that’s also a place where he died and is buried today. There are so many locations linked to Vincent van Gogh in Auvers-sur-Oise, anyone in love with his work, should definitely visit it.

Easter Traditions in Europe

Red easter eggs from the czech Republic

Easter traditions in Europe are as diverse as the countries on the Old Continent themselves. From an egg hunt in England, decorating Easter trees in Germany, Austria or the Netherlands, colouring eggs in central and eastern Europe to numerous religious processions in Spain or Italy. They represent all the treasure of European culture in such a lovely way.

Dutch Golden Age Heritage Sites in the Netherlands

Dutch Golden Age heritage sites are something you can not miss while in the Netherlands. The 17th century was the most glorious time for that country. Dutch ships were sailing worldwide and were bringing exotic and expensive goods back to the Netherlands. Society of wealthy middle-class free people started to develop, which led to establishing the only republic in Europe at that time. A good economy led to the flourishing of art and architecture. Which left the Netherlands today with numerous beautiful Dutch Golden Age heritage sites.

There are many locations related to life and work of Van Gogh in Arles, that could still be seen today. I’ve spent two days there and have looked for some of them.

Bring Paris to your home for a day

Truth to be told, after eight months with no international travel, I feel some serious wanderlust. And I am aware there are bigger problems in the world right now, but I can’t help myself. I miss flying, strolling around the new city, visiting museums and falling in love with a new place. Living in Amsterdam made Paris only a three-hours-train-ride-away, and I’d visit it regularly. I called those trips my yearly pilgrimages to Paris. Since we can’t travel right now, I decided to recreate a bit of a French atmosphere in my home. And made a little guide on how to bring Paris to your home for a day.
