Instagram post 2186260310973000489_1911881617 Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is next to the Cathedral, one of the most famous sights in Milan.
And it’s quite an interesting place ;)
🗯 It was named after Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of the Kingdom of Italy
🗯 Built between 1865 and 1867, it is Italy's oldest active shopping mall
🗯 It was more extensive in scale than its predecessors, and an important step in the development of modern shopping malls. It also inspired the use of the term 'galleria' for many other shopping malls
🗯 At its centre there are four mosaics with the coat of arms of Turin, Florence, Rome and Milan. The legend says if a person spins around three times with a heel on the testicles of the bull from Turin coat of arms, it will bring good luck
🗯 It's home to luxury brands, but also some of the oldest restaurants and shops in Milan (like for example, Biffi Café founded in 1867)
Have you visited it? What was your favourite part of the gallery?

Instagram post 2185693502788429309_1911881617 Although Milan Cathedral is the fifth largest church in the world, it’s the oldest one on that list.
And a Gothic cathedral with the most statues. 3,400 statues, 135 gargoyles and 700 figures are decorating the cathedral.
Quite impressive, right?

It’s that time of the year again!
With many festive events, Christmas trees all around and that cosy feeling, December is my favourite month of the year. And a big reason for it are Christmas markets.
Since I love visiting them, I did a bit of a research and looked for the Christmas markets organised in the Netherlands. I’ve first compiled this list four years ago, and have updated it each year since. So if you would like to visit some of them, check out the link in a bio for the full list of Christmas markets in the Netherlands with 2019 agenda.

Instagram post 2181224041490554174_1911881617 No, there were no elevators in the Medieval city gates. But, instead, you get this kind of a gorgeous staircase 😍❤️

Last month I spent three days at a beautiful Lake Como. It’s located in the Italian region of Lombardy, at the very north of the country, close to the Swiss border.
I had a chance to visit many small picturesque villages located there, and my favourite were Varenna and Bellagio. Here are some photos I took while there. But, you can read more about it in my new blog post (link in a bio).
