It instantly makes you feel great and like there are so many colours in this world you haven’t noticed before. Since she just opened a studio in Amsterdam where you can see and buy some of her work, or join some of Alina’s workshops, I thought it would be a great occasion to introduce her work to my readers.

Drawings from her sketchbook became large prints and a lovely ode to Amsterdam life. Amsterdam Noord Amsterdam Noord (North) was an industrial area of the city during the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. Many old factory buildings and the vast areas, that are so unusual for…

Photos as a lovely souvenir from your trip I love having some beautiful photos from my trips. They are my favourite souvenir…

Self-guided Tour: Following the Footsteps of Rembrandt in Amsterdam

Tea holding a phone in a city

On the early foggy morning, while the streets of Amsterdam were still quiet and peaceful, two men were carrying a huge mirror. Their heavily breathing was the only sound that could be heard on a canal next to which they were walking. When they were right in the middle of the bridge to Rusland, one of them slipped, dropped the massive mirror and it broke into numerous pieces. After the loud crushing sound, they just looked at each other in disbelief. That was the mirror belonging to the famous painter Rembrandt who was using it for his self-portraits. And his…
