My year in 12 photos

London at rainy day

Another year is behind us! Well, I am quite satisfied with this one, so I hope that 2017 will be even better. I started my own business, bought an apartment and met some nice people who become a dear friends. I started to blog more, went on my first blogging conference in London, had first collaboration on it and finished a blogging course which helped me a lot in starting to think of my blog more seriously. And I traveled a lot! I went on some great trips in 2016! I can’t even decide which one I liked the most. So,…

Christmas Markets in the Netherlands (with 2016 Agenda)

Santa Claus sculpture on Christmas market in Maastricht

There is a common opinion that the Netherlands doesn’t have much to offer in terms of the Christmas markets. But, it’s so not true! There are many events organized during the December, with vintage Christmas markets that will transfer you back to the beginning of the 20th century or the ones located in castles or even underground caves. There are an ice skating fields in almost every city, with many Christmas concerts, Santa’s visits and a shopping opportunities for the nice Christmas presents. Since I am a bit crazy about Christmas markets myself, I did my research here and compiled a list…

Varaždin old town fortress

Croatia is well known for its Adriatic coastline, but its inland is definitely worth visiting, as well. That’s why I decided to compile a series of posts dedicated to not-so-well-known places there, but absolute musts if you are planning to spend more days in this beautiful country. We will start with the baroque pearl of North Croatia – Varaždin. A quick guide to Varaždin Varaždin is one of those towns which charm you can feel instantly. It is full of charming small streets, beautiful mansions, picturesque churches and friendly people. Once it was the capital of Croatia, but it lost…

Bruges travel guide – things you shouldn’t miss

Swans in front of Beguinage Bruges

Bruges in Belgium is definitely one of the cutest towns I’ve ever seen. With its well preserved medieval architecture, a lot of great restaurants and plenty of chocolateries it is definitely worth visiting! Here is a small Bruges travel guide with a list of things you shouldn’t miss. Bruges Bruges got its name from Vikings that occupied its territory in 9th century. They called it ‘Bryghia’, which means landing stage. Later on, a name of a town changed to Brugge or Bruges. In 14th century it had 40,000 people, which was the same as London at that time. Golden age…

Jewelry inspired by different sceneries

Nahla presenting her jewelry collection from different sceneries

A few days ago I went to the launch of new Analogie Jewelry collection ‘A Piece of Earth’. Event was held at cozy MICA coffee bar in Haarlem which was very suitable venue for it. Its designer Nahla already had collections inspired by traveling and different cultures (you can see more about her story here). But, this one really stands out with its simplicity and amazing reflection of motifs in jewelry. Nahla found inspiration in five different locations; Ethiopia, China, Australia, Turkey and the North pole. She then looked for gems that are trully representing colors and shapes of its sceneries. It is…

Travel quotes that will inspire you to travel more

Inspiring pound in Luxembourg Gardens in Paris

Travelling is inspirational in so many ways. You don’t just get to know the new culture, city or the country, but the most importantly yourself. Many books were written, and so many movies were filmed about it. Obviously, it also inspired people to write some of the lovely things about it. Here are some of my favorite travel quotes: You can never cross the ocean unles you have the courage to lose sight of the shore. CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before. DALAI LAMA There comes a point in your life when you need to…

Traveling by train with a child

Traveling in train with child

Traveling by train is one of the best ways to explore the Europe.  It is also one of my favorite ways of traveling.  Luckily, in a few of my recent trips, I found out it is also completely child friendly. But, like with everything related to kids, a good preparation is the key! Food Although international trains mostly have their own restaurant, I really wouldn’t recommend eating in them (they have a nice coffee, though). So, take enough food with you (delays can always happen) for both you and a child. Just think of his or her daily menu and…

Copenhagen’s Parks

Ørstedsparken public park

Copenhagen was declared to be one of the most liveable cities in the world many times. And after I recently visit it, I completely understood why. It has the perfect size, you can go everywhere on foot or bike, it is not overcrowded (I’m looking to you Amsterdam!) and it is so relaxed, while at the same time one of the Europe’s gastronomic, design and cultural centers. But, one of the things that impressed me the most, were its amazing parks. It has so many of them! We were very lucky having a great sunny weather with almost summer temperatures,…
