🏛 Museum Monday: Belvedere Museum 🎨🧑‍🎨🖼#museummonday🎨 Vienna is the city of art and home to many fascinating museums. One of my favourites is the Belvedere. It's a place to go to enjoy beautiful Austrian Baroque architecture and one of the best collections of Gustav Klimt's artworks.🌳 The Belvedere Museum in Vienna is located in a complex consisting of two Baroque palaces and some additional edifices surrounded by a beautiful garden.👑 Inaugurated as a picture gallery by Empress Maria Theresa and her son, Emperor Joseph II, in 1777, Belvedere is one of the oldest museums in the world.🏛 Both palaces were severely damaged during the Second World War. They were carefully restored after it.🖼 The museum is home to a great collection of Austrian and European art. It has one of the best collections of Gustav Klimt's paintings. It also hosts a fascinating collection of paintings by French Impressionists, Vincent van Gogh, Oscar Kokoschka, Emil Nolde, Edvard Munch, and many more.Have you been to the Belvedere?@belvederemuseum #belvederemuseum #vienna #viennamuseums
