Museum Christmas Market
*Date: It won’t happen this year
Museum Market organised at Museumplein in Amsterdam is probably one of my favourite Christmas markets in the Netherlands. Designers and artists from the Netherlands are showcasing and selling their work there. Last year I had a lot of fun selling my colouring postcards there.
However, sadly, Museum Christmas Market won’t be organised this year. But, keep an eye on their website for a date of the next museum market.

Amsterdam Light Festival
*Date: November 28th 2019 – January 19th 2020
The seventh edition of ALF is taking place between November 28th and January 19th 2020. You can see more than 200 art installations made by international artists on the route. I am going to the Light Festival every single year and am strongly recommending it!
The best way to see it is on one of the special canal cruise boats that are following the Light Festival route. You can start it at the Central Station or at the Leidseplein (check the links for tickets). Both of these have a special promotion – if you’re going to purchase your tickets before November 28th 2019 you are going to get a 20% discount!
You can also visit the Amsterdam Light Festival on one of the historic boats. Or, if you’re not afraid of the cold, but would like to have a great view of the installations, you can join one of these open-top boat light festival tours.
Christmas Village on Ice
*Date: November 17th 2019 – February 2nd 2020
Christmas Village on Ice is one of the most beautiful places in Amsterdam, with a cosy Christmas setting. It is located at Museumplein, and the ice skating rink is already open.
